Go ahead and put this in your musical Pitre-Dish. First off, a very subtle layer of occassional punk rock kinda riffs covered in a layer of truely heavy metal hooks, smothered in melodic undertone breaks topped off with a strikingly solid layer of early 90's grunge and this is what you get.
Not tourists, not posers, nothing fake. Just real American Rock Music done by real people.

01/01/04 Inexplicable, pulsating, vibrations were picked up by a seismograph in Ohio earlier this year. These unidentifiable sounds had baffled even the Nerdiest of Scientists and, gained the attention of the sexiest Waffle House waitresses. The deep tones have grown in strength and have seemed to catch the interest of avid music lovers all over the state. After months of searching by amateur geologists, the governmental authorities were notified. As result a full scale search was held in a remote part of the Ohio valley in order to find its origin. Local colleges, archeologists, and secret governmental agencies had joined the search. Six months and twenty million dollars later, in an effort to cover up the next "big thing," a press conference was held stating that the source will remain a mystery.
05/22/04 Late one night, a group of adolescent substance abusers were playing "hacky sack" and said to have heard something unfamiliarly awesome. They continued to walk towards the direction of the sound. As they approached, they noticed that all kinds of people with many different backgrounds had seemed to congregate around the harmonic distortion. As the group closed in on the crowd, one asked, "What is this all about?" Before the other could answer, a VirupaGroupa screamed out, "This is kick ass rock!" Shortly after, a phone call was made to the media. The search for the eluding tones was over. A new type of Rock has surfaced from beneath the earth’s crust and the local authorities are calling it Mayavirupa.
Mayavirupa is a original Rock band located in Central Ohio, the best definition of the groups music is "a sound of a different intellect."
When asked to explain how the band sounds, the only relevant reply you may hear is:
" In this industry it seems that image cloning, and main-streaming yourself has quickly become the only way to go. It lacks the Art, creativity, and feelings of the true Musician. Today, bands out there want to leave a different taste in your mouth, that artificial emotion with a purpose solely to patronize not console.
